Prof. Dr. Sunil Patil is an industry veteran with more than 30 years of experience in the Information Technology domain. He started his career at Bell Labs, Murray Hill, New Jersey, in the Communications Integrated Circuits Division, working on several mixed-signal integrated circuits. Later, he became the Director of the Wireless Networks Group. He also contributed to global business development, establishing an offshore development centre for Bell Labs in Bengaluru, India, and partnering with premier IT companies. Later, he moved on to be the Head of the R&D and Learning Center at T-Systems (a subsidiary of Deutsch Telecom, Germany) and a Senior Manager (India Operations) at BMC Software.

Presently, he is mentoring start-ups and providing consulting services to companies for outsourcing. His areas of interest are Wireless Communications, Quality in Education, Strategic Outsourcing, and Entrepreneurship. He has several publications in National and International journals. He has co-authored a book on the Empowerment of Faculty in Engineering Education. He is presently working on his next book, which will focus on the quality of education in Schools.

He is an Educationist who is passionate about the quality of education. He was awarded PhD by the Faculty of Management, Symbiosis International University in Pune, India. He has obtained MBA from the Miller School of Business of Ball State University, Indiana, USA, an MSEE with a specialization in Communications Engineering from Charles Schaefer School of Engineering and Science of Stevens Institute of Technology, New Jersey, USA, MASC with a specialization in Digital Signal Processing from University of Windsor, Canada, and ME with specialization in Power Electronics from Victoria Jubilee Technical Institute (VJTI), Bombay. He obtained a BE in Electrical Engineering from Nagpur University, India. From 2009 to 2016, Dr. Patil was Professor and Director of Symbiosis Institute of Telecom Management (SITM). He also has worked with the International Institute of Information Technology (I2IT), Pune, as a Professor in Advanced Networking & Telecom, Dean (Academics), & Vice President for International Relations.
